The Mystic Bird

This site (The Mystic Bird) used to be called Merlins Minute. Reason for the change was due to a database failure that resulted in a connection error to Wordpress.com. This connection error couldn’t be overcome and the result was the Stats plugin as well as others that depend on Wordpress.com for their data to be used were useless.

So, I moved all the salvageable data over to this site and began again…almost from scratch. There is a redirect in place that points a visitor from the old url to this one so anyone looking for the old site will find this one easy enough.

Add to this a hardware failure on the VPS server recently that this site resides on and a few lost posts plus other content and you have one hell of a rocky beginning back to where I was before.

So, all I can ask at this point now is that if for any reason this site becomes inaccessible, please bear with me while I work to get things back in order. I plan to offer more content as soon as possible and plan to do so for as long as possible.

For those interested, this site is powered by Wordpress (like you didn’t already know that!). The theme is Damai 1.0 by eches that I’ve modified somewhat to suit my needs.

The content is from my personal experiences with Linux, web design, web hosting, domain names, email, web applications, etc. Many of the posts come right from my  Ubuntu desktop via an applet called Blog Entry Poster.
