In the news today many things from the Tech world we live in caught my eye. Here are some of the hottest ones on the web and in print:
- Birmingham News: Apple Inc. has sold more than 2 million copies of it’s latest operating system named Leopard, in it’s first weekend on sale. Leopard, released last Friday, sells for $129 for a single copy and $199 for a family license good for 5 users.
- C/net lists their latest 2007 Fall Tech Preview for those Tech junkies out there and those wanting to get that just right gift for someone for Christmas. Check out C/net’s listing of what’s hot for this Fall and be the first on your block with the latest gadget!
- News on the Linux front has it that “Ubuntu really seems to be rising as the user-friendly Linux OS of choice,” Charles King, principal analyst with Pund-IT, said in a telephone interview. “If anybody has a chance of succeeding with a desktop Linux, Ubuntu is at the head of the line.” more here…
- PC World states that Congress votes to extend the internet tax ban. The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a seven-year extension to an Internet tax ban, the final step before the legislation heads to President George Bush to be signed into law. The House on Tuesday approved the Senate version of the Internet tax moratorium, which would ban Internet-only taxes such as access taxes for seven years. The current ban has been in effect since 1998, except for a lapse during most of 2004. more here…
