It’s an unfortunate but expected occurance that we’ll be spammed even more this holiday season and there is little we can do about it with the small exception of continuing to be ever vigilant with our spam/virus/spyware measures.
This hot topic I came across from PC Magazine will open your eyes a bit more on the subject:
Spam: An Unwelcome Part of Season’s Greetings
Beware of anything that you don’t recognize the sender’s name from in your inbox. It’s sad but it will help to prevent potentially serious damage to either your computer or your finances.
Remember one thing in particular: “If it sounds almost too good to be true…it most likely is.”

Just wanted to post a quick note to say Happy Holidays to all of you and best wishes for a wonderful new year. I’m looking forward to something new this coming new year myself (maybe a new laptop? a new monitor? drats! she won’t tell me) and I hope the New Year brings as many good surprises for you all as well.
For those of you that still like to keep up with where that Jolly ‘ol fella in the funny red suit is, here’s a link to track him with: Norad Tracks Santa
Remember to leave cookies and milk for Santa and a little something for the reindeer!
Now I’m off to go shake a few presents under the tree seeing as she’s left for work!

Web Design
Reckon we ought to update our web site? Maybe no one would notice. Heh, more than likely no one will ever know if you don’t keep it updated because they won’t be back.
Imagine this: You spend a huge amount of time getting your store ready for it’s big sale. You stock the shelves, make sure the place is squeaky-clean, have all the aisles well marked and the stock priced accordingly, your hours are plainly marked on the door and everyone is trained and ready for the big day. You’re ready for the scads of customers that will surely come through the doors in anticipation of the sale you have planned.
One problem though. No one knows. But why? You planned well in advance to take advantage of the impending holiday! Why is it there is no big crowd or even anyone remotely interested in this big sale? This doesn’t make sense!
Really? Well actually, it makes perfect sense. You failed to “update” any information relating to your store and it’s big sale. No one knew because you never bothered to make periodical updates to any sales literature, brochures, ads (of any kind) and most importantly…to the web site that works 24/7 for you on the internet. Nothing new equals no visitors.
One of the often overlooked aspects of a web site is updating it’s content. This will keep it fresh and keep visitors coming back for more. Whether it’s a page about the company’s latest product offering, a sale, or even news about an exciting new service you are now offering. If you don’t update the content to reflect that..who will know? Just you.
All that hard work that went in to getting ready for that big sale will go down the drain if no one knows about it in advance. Update that site my friend and your visitors will keep coming back and most importantly…they’ll know about the big sale you have planned.

Funnies
We all get a laugh now and then with the Sunday comics or even us die-hards that might still watch the Saturday morning cartoons (ahh, the Bugs Bunny, Road Runner Hour of old!). The ones we used to watch are probably archaic by todays standards but, for us internet junkies…what is there available for us now?
Enter BLAUGH sponsored by Go Daddy. It has a simple code to install this daily updated comic in your web page(s), blogs or just about anywhere else you might want to add it. Sample is below.

If you’d like to install this on your web page or blog, just click the comic and follow the simple instructions. You can also adjust the width to a degree so it will be a good fit.
Many thanks to Mitch Keeler for the heads up on this as well as the good folks at BLAUGH for this simple but funny addition to keep us laughing.
